EVENT SUMMARY:
In HBO's 2021 original documentary, "Black Art: In the Absence of Light", a study of African American artists' contributions to today's contemporary art world, artist, Theaster Gates, poses a powerful and important question: "Do we have the capacity to be great makers in the absence of light?"
We are hosting an intimate gathering where we will convene to dis- cuss the art equity gap and explore what it means for Black cre- atives, past and present, to create in the absence of light. Join us.
